Literati are traditionally defined as well-educated literary people; intellectuals who are interested in literature; those who love, read, and comment on literature. Along with loving literature, our Library Literati group consists of people who also like to have fun while supporting the Library!
TCPL Foundation Library Literati are special supporters who enjoy lively social events that benefit TCPL. Our first Library Literati event was our massively popular Library Speakeasy held on October 9, 2019. Current world situations require us to take a different approach to future Literati events; our next event is a Literary-Themed Pub Trivia Night.
The literature-themed trivia competition will be Friday, October 9th beginning at 7:00pm, hosted by local author and trivia night host, Bob Proehl.
Contestants can play as an individual for a minimum $5 donation, or as part of a team of four to five people for a $25 donation.
Prizes will be awarded for winning teams and individuals, as well as most creative team names and best literary figure costumes.
Contestants are encouraged to dress as their favorite author or character while playing.
All proceeds benefit Tompkins County Public Library.
